Recycling, Composting and Hazardous Waste Removal

Let's Recycle Right Eagle County!

The Climate Action Collaborative is launching our first Bi-Annual Recycling Education Guide for the Eagle County Community. We are spelling out in perfect clarity (with pictures included) what can ALWAYS go in your recycle bin and what can NEVER EVER go in your recycle bin. And we'll let you know every 6 months if there have been any changes to the rules, so you can keep on top of your recycling game!

In the interim between updates, the Eagle County Waste Wizard app is a perfect tool to answer all the questions you have on recycling. Find the answers to all your specific recycling questions at any time and have access to Walking Mountains recycling resources at the tip of your fingers!

Download the app, check out our Recycling Guide, and start recycling right!

Compost Drop Site at Town Hall

The Town of Minturn is happy to announce that we will be implementing a Compost Drop Site at Town Hall.  This service is available to Vail Honeywagon Compost Program members only (you must sign up for the service to participate).  The compost dumpster should be available by the end of March.

We know that several residents were already on the waiting list, as we worked to get this established.  Thank you for your patience!

To sign up for a drop-site membership contact requests@vailhoneywagon.com.

Recycling

Alliance Recycle is now providing recycling opportunities for residents through a drop-off program at collection sites located throughout the county. For further information about recycling please call the alliance at 970-569-3890.

Recycling Technology Items

Recycling electronic equipment is critical for our environment yet experts currently estimate that less than 15% of electronic components purchased are properly recycled. The remaining 85% are unaccounted for and often end up in our landfill. The goal of High Country Computer Services, LLC is to recover as much raw material as possible and ensure hazardous chemicals and heavy metals are disposed of properly. Visit the website.

Household Hazardous Waste Facility

The Eagle County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Small Business Hazardous Waste Collection Facility (CESQG) is now open to the public. The new facility is located at the landfill north of Wolcott. For more information visit the HHW Web page or call 970-328-3463
