Minturn Town Council

The purpose of the Town Council is to provide a forum, through a town meeting, to identify and discuss issues of concern, to represent the residents and businesses in the Town of Minturn, and to work together with government agencies and local organizations to meet the needs of our community.

Meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:30PM in the Town Hall, 302 Pine Street Minturn, CO 81645.

Community members are welcome to send a group email to all the Council Members and Town Manager at council@minturn.org .

Join Minturn council members George Brodin and Matt Scherr on the deck of the Minturn Saloon to get the lowdown on what's up in Minturn these days. Ask questions, give suggestions, praise, criticize (gently...Matt is sensitive), or just shoot the breeze. Saloon happy hour is in full swing (and always ask for the locals' special!)

Monday, July 23 - 4-6pm, Minturn Saloon. We look forward to seeing you there!

Background Information:
I was born in a farmhouse in Putney, Vermont and grew up in Arlington and Lexington, Massachusetts. My education was in both The Waldorf School and public high school. I moved to Colorado to attend University of Colorado, Colorado Springs and graduated with a B.S. in International Business and a minor in German Studies.

Professionally I am involved in the ski industry, having worked for vendors, retailers, and competitive ski clubs in the U.S, Germany, and New Zealand. I was instrumental in starting a business in Frisco and have also lived in the Park City/Salt Lake City area while employed by a ski brand. I now lead a business unit within Ski & Snowboard Club Vail, with work locations in Minturn and Vail and full time, year round staff of 3. I am a skier who likes to go uphill to earn turns in Colorado’s High Country, a sport climber, and a mountain biker.

We are all fortunate in our ability to call Minturn home! I urge my fellow Town residents to get involved in causes in which you believe. The power of involvement is enormous and provides the best opportunity for our Town to be what we desire it to be! Be honest, do good for yourself and those around you, and make your behavior an example of what you expect of others.
