Town Attorney's Office


The town attorney is appointed by the Minturn Town Council and provides legal advice and counsel to the Town Council and town officials in matters relating to their official duties. The town attorney is also the legal representative of the Town in county, state and federal court and directs outside counsel who represent the Town in that capacity.

The town attorney attends all council meetings and drafts ordinances and resolutions for council approval. The town attorney reviews and consults on contracts regarding town services and provides legal opinions and staff consultation on such issues as land use and development, property acquisition, personnel, finance, liquor licensing and such other matters as the town council or town manager may direct.

The town prosecutor prosecutes violations of the municipal code before the Town of Minturn Municipal Court.
